Yes, you read that correctly!!! 5 years and a couple months later and we are (finally) engaged! Never in a million years did I think this day would come, and here it is! So this series of post is dedicated solely to our relationship: Part 1-how it started, Part 2-the proposal/engagement and what's next is all coming right up! [Oh, and A TON OF PICTURES!] So brace yourself!
How it started!
It all really started with the above Facebook post! A couple months before this post Ethan added me as a friend on Facebook and I had no idea who he was so I sent the casual "Do I know you?" message and he replied back pretty casually with a "Me and my friend were having a contest to see who could add the most people so I added you!" and that was the end of that conversation.
Fast forward a couple months and high school Olivia posted a "Truth is..... like my status and I'll post on your wall<3" type of thing and guess who liked it?! That's right.... high school Ethan. And that friends, is where the above wall post comes into play.
Long story short, Ethan replies to the wall post (I later found out he replied through a text message, idk what that's about) and it ended up sending me his reply in a direct message instead of on the actual post (smooth move E, lol). So we talk through Facebook messenger for like a whole month about life, sports, I actually gave him relationship advice lol, and then school starts and we don't message each other for like a solid 5 days (boo!)! Finally he hits me with the "This whole messenger thing is getting kind of difficult so here is my number and we can just text!" but wait, it gets better...... he then adds "and I'm not that type of guy so this is not me asking for your number or anything!" (& we laugh every time we talk about this part because he was totally trying to get my number and he will admit it). Side note: this whole entire direct message conversation is actually all scrapbooked! I gave this to E for our 1 year of dating, it's hilarious to look at and read!
So fast forward again about a month, and Ethan's homecoming is coming up and my cousin and friend that I played summer ball with convince E to ask me to homecoming (& let me just remind you, at this point we still have never met each other in person lol, we have only come up with some million dollar ideas over Facebook messenger and he told me I could easily have a show like Oprah/Dr.Phil because I give great advice haha). So they convince him, he calls me and asks me to homecoming and bam, just like that I set myself up for a date with a stranger. [Edit: My mom wanted me to let everyone know that E was a stranger to me, but he went to school with my cousin and they were in the same grade, so he wasn't a completely random creepy Facebook person, so still be careful adding/meeting people online lol]
Homecoming Night: Before the game we went to eat mexican food at Miguelito's and I remember ordering a kid's quesadilla because well, it's basically our first date (Even though we weren't officially dating) and I didn't want to immediately let him know that I basically supersize all my meals (not really, but I do eat a lot). We went to the football and then after that we headed to go bowling! We held hands for the first time in the back of his parents van and then he kissed me on my forehead at my front porch when they dropped me off, and that is how homecoming 2010 went!

Homecoming night- September 2010
A couple weeks later, we met up at Bianca's volleyball game in Ponder and while we were waiting on her to come out of the locker room after the game he asked me if I wanted to go ahead and make it official.... and that was the "official" start of our relationship: [October 1st, 2010]!
So lot's of baseball games, homecomings, proms, 1 year of me being 3 hours away at college, almost 3 yeas of both of us living in Abilene, and almost 2 years of going to the same college, here we are 4 days of being engaged! So let's take a look at the transformation of our relationship [embarrassing, unattractive, and awkward pictures included]:

^^^(the softball tan lines, eeeek!)
Like wow! Experiencing {five whole years} worth of memories with Ethan has been incredible! He is truly my best friend and soul mate and I can't wait to do life with him forever! & being totally honest, in all 5 years I can count on 1 hand the number of times we have ever seriously argued, and I would need about 9347584837485849 x infinity hands to count the number of times he has complimented me and told me he loves me, exactly how it should be! & for oooo's and ahhh's, a quick side by side of the transformation:
Let's be honest, it's mainly E who did the transforming: heart eye emoji x infinity!!!!!<3
Check back for Part 2 to get the inside scoop on the proposal, surprise engagement party, and what the future looks like! (and lots of pictures, like a lot a lot!)
